I was lucky enough to get the chance to visit Key West in the late eighties. Of course, the first stop was Hemingway's house and I must say the cats were the main attraction for me. They are called polydactyl (six-toed) cats and I was surprised to find one of this type recently being offered for adoption at my local humane society. I was born and raised in Baltimore and wrote my senior year term paper on Edgar Allan Poe but, believe it or not, I have never visited the Poe House and Museum. While it is now temporarily closed, I plan to visit when it reopens-hopefully in the spring. Here is the website: Poe House and Museum
